For those who like the idea of having a fixed electric rate but worry about locking in, Accent Energy offers fixed rates with flexibility with our Free service called RateEscape*. RateEscape allows you to "reset" your fixed rate—move to a lower one—if electricity rates go down. Here's how it works.
If you're not a customer yet... click the "Sign-Up" button on this page for a fixed rate plan. If our rates drop below the rate you locked in, call and tell us that you want to exercise your RateEscape option. We'll move you to a new fixed rate plan that day. If you're already a customer on a variable rate plan... you can switch to a fixed rate at any time and become eligible for RateEscape. If you're already on a fixed rate plan, you can exercise your RateEscape option anytime once during your 1- or 2-year contract period. Call 800.928.7775 to exercise your right to RateEscape!* *You have the option to reset and reduce your fixed rate down one time during your term with Accent Energy through Accent Energy’s RateEscape service. You are eligible for this service 90-days after your electricity supply is switched to Accent Energy. Due to forward market pricing this service may not always be available. If you are eligible to reset and reduce your rate, you will start a new fixed rate term with Accent Energy. You will receive a new Terms of Service.
